A Beautiful Life
I have spent the last 19 years raising three beautiful children in a little farmhouse on the outskirts of Hillsboro, Oregon. My life has been unbelievably sweet; full to the brim with the wonder and excitement of watching young people grow.
My infatuation with the art of early childhood & elementary education began when I enrolled my son in a local Reggio Emilia school just a few blocks from our home. As is the tradition in Reggio schools, I spent many hours volunteering in the classroom, surrounded by more paint, clay, wooden blocks, insects, books and dress-up capes than you could shake a stick at. I was utterly fascinated by the process of watching children interact with their environment and learn through play. The desire to be a part of children's learning was ignited, and the rest (as they say) is history.
The following pages will chronicle my journey back to school; this summer I was accepted into the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Pacific University. I am having the time of my life - reading, writing, drawing, painting, wondering, imagining and learning. Come with me, and we'll play...
